1. About Us
Union Freight is a UK-based logistics provider offering:

We operate in accordance with the
British International Freight Association Standard Trading Conditions (BIFA STC).
2. Our Role
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, Union Freight acts as a freight forwarding agent.
This means:

We arrange transport and logistics services on your behalf

We may subcontract services to trusted third-party carriers
3. Where We Operate
We provide services:

Across the UK
-
Internationally (subject to regulations and restrictions)
4. Customer Responsibilities
As our customer, you agree to:

Provide accurate and complete documentation

Ensure compliance with customs regulations
-
Pay all applicable duties, taxes, and charges
You are responsible for any issues caused by incorrect or incomplete information.
5. Payment Terms

Payment is due within 30 days from invoice date

Late payments may result in:

Interest charges (4% above Bank of England base rate)

Fixed recovery fees under UK law

We reserve the right to:

Suspend services for unpaid invoices

Withdraw credit facilities at any time
6. Lien on Goods
We reserve the right to retain possession of goods until all outstanding charges are paid.
If payment is not received, we may sell goods to recover costs.
7. Insurance
Goods are not insured automatically.
We can arrange insurance upon request at an additional cost.
8. Liability
Our liability is limited in accordance with:

Applicable international conventions (including CMR for European road transport)
We are not responsible for:

Indirect or consequential losses

Delays outside our control
9. Claims
All claims must be:

Submitted in writing

Within 7 days of service completion
Claims submitted outside this period may not be accepted.
10. Additional Charges
You may be liable for additional costs, including:

Storage fees

Demurrage

Detention charges
11. Dangerous Goods
You must declare any hazardous or dangerous goods.
We reserve the right to refuse or handle such goods at your risk if not properly declared.
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control, including:

Natural disasters

Strikes
-
War or political disruption

Government restrictions
13. Data Protection
We process personal data in line with UK GDPR.
Your information is used only for:

14. Indemnity
